Who's Who on the Keener Dream Cruise Weekend Broadcast
Bob GreenKeener13.com would not exist without the contributions of this gifted artist. Bob worked a WKMH, was there for Keener's beginnings and witnessed Keener's final months. He was an incomparable air talent, production wizard and ultimately program director. He generously shared many treasures from his personal WKNR archives for both the Dream Cruise Weekend and keener13.com He is still plying his audio trade as the CEO of Bob Green Productions in Houston. |
Michael
StevensBegan his Keener career answering phones. After Bob Green caught him the production room and liked what he heard, Michael was soon on the air. He used his radio roots as an entre into the record industry and is a long time promotion executive with Atlantic Records. He's currently based in Texas. |
Pat St. JohnBegan his radio career at the precursor to W4, before crossing the river to CKLW. He came to Keener in 1970 at the age of 19. He pioneered album rock at WRIF before moving to New York where he was heard on WPLJ and WNEW. Pat is currently heard on WCBS-FM in New York and is the Noon-6PM host of The Rock on Sirius Satellite Radio. |
Scott
RegenScott Regen came to Detroit from WHB where he worked mornings as Rock Robins. He changed his name to avoid confusion with Robin Seymour. During Keener's heyday he ruled the night, hosting the legendary Motown Monday series and interviewing rock's great and near great. Scott is currently an advertising executive in New York City. |

J. Michael Wilson and his side kick, Rodney the Rodent followed Scott Regen on weeknights, cranking the craziness up a notch. He created Rodney's bits on the fly by recording his own voice on tape and speeding up the play back. J. Mike moved to mornings when Dick Purtan left for Baltimore. After Keener, he and Rodney enjoyed success in Canada at CHUM. |
Bob Berry Grew up in metro Detroit and credits the Keener announcers for firing his radio desires. While at Michigan State, he was number one at Lansing's WVIC and was one of the legendary Big-8 Jocks at CKLW. Today he Orlando's hottest afternoon drive personality at Cool 100 |
Scott
WestermanYour host and producer of the Dream Cruise broadcast grew up in Ann Arbor. He came of age too late to work at WKNR, but cherished his Keener air checks throughout his Michigan radio career. Along with Steve Schram, he created keener13.com. When not lost in the 60s, he's a telecommunications executive in Jacksonville, Florida. |
