KeeNeR's Dream Car has made a couple of 'personal appearances' lately. The
first one was at Westland with Ron Sherwood Saturday afternoon, September 7
and there was a very good turnout. Last Saturday it was shown at Eastland
where there was an excellent turnout - (as a matter of fact, we ran out of
bumper stickers:> - and this Saturday it will be at Northland with J.
Michael Wilson. The car will be given away at the end of the month.
Ron Sherwood has embarked on a part-time teaching occupation. He's helping
dropouts in adult education classes in Wyandotte in speech and English. He's
also a substitute teacher afternoons in junior high schools in Wyandotte and
Southgate teaching the same Subjects. Ron is a graduate of Western Michigan
University and has a Bachelor of Science degree in education.
Visitors to the station: o. C. Smith, the recording artist, on Tuesday,
September 17, 1968.
Ed Busch made a personal appearance at Seaholm High School in Birmingham
Wednesday, September 11, talking about careers in radio.
Gary Stevens, who left KeeNeR some time ago and went on to greater heights
in New York, is being honored there at a luncheon affair in the Hotel
Americana today. Proceeds of the $20 tickets will go the Westchester Youth
Fund. Gary is no longer connected with WMCA. He's now consulting in the TV
business in Europe.
