In case none of you have noticed or been introduced to her, our new sales
secretary is Alice Williams, and we welcome her, too.
Gary Mitchell made a personal appearance on Thursday, May 2 - Career Day -
at Garden City High School. He spoke on careers in radio to three different
classes - approximately 100 students.
Frank Maruca is appearing at Dearborn High School today to talk to students
on careers in radio for their Career Day activity.
Anniversaries of KeeNeRites in the month of May:
Ann Mitchell started with us May 4, 1957; Paul Cannon started with us July,
1961, left us in September, 1963 and returned May 11, 1964; Dick Davis - May
16, 1959; and Bill Hauke - May 18, 1950.
Harry Walker is vacationing this week and next, spending a few days in New
York and Minneapolis.
Listening to KeeNeR has been very profitable for three of our listeners.
They were the winners in our Hi Lo Contest. Mrs. Stephanie Wrobel won $3893,
Mrs. Betty Ashburn won $1901, and Mrs. Barbara Krichke won $2097.
A word of appreciation to Marie Renner, our temporary switchboard operator.
She proved she can bake cakes of the 10-story variety by bringing in one
that practically covered one of our tables in the lounge. The only complaint
we had was from Jerry Taylor who said he didn't get a chunk of it.
Phil Nye made a personal appearance Friday, May 3, at the West Dearborn
Republican Club to speak on the subject of "The Tone of News Reporting
Today."
In case you had intended to send Clarence Maples a birthday card but it
slipped your mind - this is your reminder. His address is 6662 Diversey,

A personal appearance was made by Erik Smith before an educational
fraternity of Wayne State University on Friday, April 26. The subject of his
talk was "The Role of Electronic Communications Today."
Friday is Chuck Borchard's last day with us before joining the armed forces
if you'd like to wish him bon voyage.
PROJECT DETROIT subject for Sunday, May 12, 1968 is "Alcoholism: An
Illness."
