You have to love Austerman's comment about the station having "once ruled Motown as the legendary WKNR Keener 13."
More than 32 years since Keener's last broadcast...and it is still, justifiably, recognized in the press for the great station it was!

The funny thing is...everyone associates the 1310 frequency as "what used to be" Keener 13. They don't attach that sentiment to 1500 as the former WJBK, or 1130 as the old WCAR. That would tell me that the brand is worth reviving on that station. The other CC real oldies stations are doing reasonably well, while the talk programming on WXDX rarely registers a blip. I'm sensing, with all the political posturing and war news and associated angst, listeners are getting tired of all the talk out there. I know I am. Maybe the time is right to ditch some of the talk and just have some fun with the damn thing, and not just during the Dream Cruise weekends.
